You see digital art every day, and in this course, you not only will investigate digital art, but you’ll learn how to create it yourself! In this course, you will explore the tools, basic concepts, and techniques artists use to create digital art. You'll learn how to use computers, digital cameras, editing software, and more to create digital artworks and grow artistically as you evaluate and respond to your own work.

Module One: Digital Art

-Identify digital art

-Explore how technology has shaped digital art

-Recognize how artists respect copyright laws and intellectual property

-Identify the elements of art

-Identify line and shape

-Practice creating lines and shapes in a digital art software

-Analyze the meaning or purpose of a work of art

-Identify file types

-Explore layers in a digital art software

-Create a layered digital image with shapes and lines


Module Two: Photography

-Identify texture and space

-Practice creating texture and space in a digital art software

-Analyze the meaning or purpose of a work of art

-Explore how to take digital photographs

-Experiment with lighting and composition

-Use the artistic process to take photographs

-Demonstrate the use of texture and space in a photograph

-Create an artist statement to reflect on your work

-Reflect on and apply feedback to one of your digital images


Module Three: Editing

-Identify color and value

-Practice creating color and value in a digital art software

-Experiment with editing digital photographs

-Use the artistic process to edit an original photograph

-Demonstrate the use of color and value in edited photographs

-Create an artist statement to reflect on your work


Module Four: Drawing

-Experiment with editing and adding to digital photographs

-Use the artistic process to edit original photographs and combine them into one file

-Demonstrate the use of variety and movement in an edited image
