Description

Have you ever wondered, “When will I use this in real life?” There are hundreds of ways that math is used in the real world, and this course is designed to help you think critically as you explore a few of those applications. With hands-on activities and interactive lessons, you will have the opportunity to apply what you learn in relevant ways. Major topics of this course include how to represent numbers in scientific notation, create algebraic expressions using the Laws of Exponents, and solve linear equations, inequalities and systems of linear equations. You will also learn to apply the Pythagorean Theorem, explore the idea of a function, and model linear relationships to help prepare you for the next level of learning.

Module One: Numerical Expressions

-represent rational numbers in different but equivalent forms

-define irrational numbers within the real number system

-plot rational and irrational numbers on a number line

-order and compare rational and irrational numbers

-apply the Laws of Exponents to evaluate expressions

- apply the Laws of Exponents to generate equivalent expressions
